Early on in my djing adventure I was annoyed by the proprietary and locked down status quo of the dj products out there. Proprietary binary formats, encrypted protocols and little variety in the available consumer products. As a F/OSS enthusiast I started my journey of first developing a modern DJ Mixer from the ground up, figuring out that FAUST is the perfect tool for this problem. Soon I found myself as the maintainer of the rust-faust crate, easing the symbiosis of the FAUST and rust ecosystem.
This journey lead me to interesting other projects and connections, like helping out @magnetophon to integrate his FAUST compressor into the rust audio plugin framework nih-plug.
